Buckingham Palace has announced the roles of Prince George and Queen Camilla’s grandchildren in the upcoming coronation ceremony of King Charles III, which is set to take place on May 6 at Westminster Abbey.
Prince George, the eldest son of Prince William and Kate, the Princess of Wales, will serve as one of the four Pages of Honor for his grandfather King Charles III during the coronation. Along with his fellow pages, George is expected to process behind the King and hold his ceremonial robes.
“We’re thrilled to have Prince George take on this special role at the Coronation,” a Kensington Palace spokesperson said. “It’s an incredible moment for him, and we’re sure he’ll make us all proud.”
Joining George as a page in the ceremony will be Lord Oliver Cholmondeley, Master Nicholas Barclay, and Master Ralph Tollemache, who are the sons of Charles’ close friends.
On the other hand, Queen Camilla’s four pages will be made up of her grandsons, Master Gus, Master Louis Lopes, and Master Freddy Parker Bowles, and her great-nephew, Master Arthur Elliot.
Camilla entered her 2005 marriage to Charles with two children of her own, Tom Parker Bowles, and Laura Lopes. It is not yet known whether they will play a role in the coronation, but they are expected to attend the ceremony.
The coronation invitation for “Their Majesties King Charles III & Queen Camilla” has also been revealed, which will be sent out to more than 2,000 coronation guests. The artwork for the invitation, designed by heraldic artist Andrew Jamieson, features a motif of the Green Man, an ancient figure from British folklore.
The coronation ceremony is expected to be a grand affair, with royal family members and VIPs from around the world in attendance. Rehearsals are taking place out of the public eye in the Ballroom of Buckingham Palace.
The coronation of King Charles III will mark the beginning of a new era in the history of the British monarchy. The event will be a historic moment for the royal family, and the involvement of Prince George and Camilla’s grandchildren will make it even more special.
